Designed for harsh Asian climatic conditions, BlueScope bring decades of experience to manufacture ZINCALUME® steel and is easily the world’s largest supplier for aluminium/zinc-coated steel.

Corrosion Resistance
Roof sheets and wall claddings made from ZINCALUME® steel are available in a range of attractive profiles. The zinc/aluminium alloy coating on ZINCALUME® steel imparts corrosion resistance of up to four times the life of galvanised steel.

Excellent Forming Capabilities
The coating on ZINCALUME® steel comprises of 55% aluminium, 43.5% zinc and 1.5% silicon. It has excellent forming capabilities and is available in high strength grades. It also provides an exceptional surface for the application of BlueScope tested and true painting process.

Longer Lifespan
ZINCALUME® steel was developed after extensive research into improving the traditional performance of galvanised iron. By blending aluminium with zinc in an alloy coating, researchers discovered a way to greatly enhance corrosion resistance. As a result, our extensive testing programme indicates that ZINCALUME® steel lifespan is up to four times that of ordinary galvanised steel.

Weathering Resistance
BlueScope’s extensive research and development program bring continuous improvement to the performance of Zincalume® steel. With proprietary surface treatment, ZINCALUME® steel has greater resistance to weathering and surface marking.

Lustrous Appearance
The product spangle size is small, fine and consistent which indicates optimised Aluminium and Zinc coating combination, allowing distinctive appearance that is lustrous and shiny. ZINCALUME® steel will also continue to look new for longer duration thanks for its passivation technology that was designed to maintain the material’s lustre.
